Next-Gen Electric Meter Mechanic Design
Project introduction:
Sasken assisted the client in the development of a new electric meter.
Customer need:
The customer needed an experienced partner to develop a new electric meter. The product needed to be highly modular to accommodate various regions and different electrical systems. Additionally, the customer aimed to reduce the bill of materials (BOM) from previous models to produce a more environmentally friendly meter.
Sasken’s solution:
Sasken collaborated with the customer and the ID design house to develop the conceptual design, which involved proof of concept, detailed design, and prototyping. Furthermore, we conducted prototype analysis, advanced design work, and offered support for communication with manufacturers.
Benefits for the customer:
The collaboration expanded beyond mechanics to include hardware, layout, and antenna design. The product design has now transitioned into production phase.
